We recognize that the telling and hearing of authentic stories spreads by its own power. Many congregations currently use stories in lots of different ways in their worship and their life together. Many others find themselves drawn to it. To be clear, the Austin Story Project is about telling and listening to authentic stories of everyday life, not about professional biblical storytelling, crafting stories to illustrate a teaching or preaching. We want to include congregations who want to learn to tell their stories of life with God to each other. Even more, we want to help congregations go beyond their own boundaries to lead circles of storytelling for enchantment, relationship and transformation accompanied by the riches of the story of Jesus.
